Up-and-coming rapper Elijah Kessler's debut album. LIGHTSPEED, which also features Instupend and Nosajg Thing and was produced by Chaz Bear (Toro y Moi), is out.Elijah Kessler was only a teenager when the first sessions that would later become LIGHTSPEED took place, but since childhood he has He had developed a unique style of melodic rap. He began releasing music publicly after working with Instupendo in high school, uploading songs to Soundcloud from his dorm room at boarding school. Their music caught the ear of Chaz Bear, aka Toro y Moi, and their collaboration began with their participation in Toro y Moi's mixtape "Soul Trash. With the idea of an album in mind, Elijah set up a temporary studio in the basement of his home. He immediately recorded a demo and sent it to Bear, who refined it through his own filter and turned it into something completely new.Thus, a unique sound was being created that combined Elijah's improvisational and melodic talents with Bear's sonic palette. Over the next few years, the project continued to grow with the addition of renowned producers Nosaj Thing and Instupendo, and the album took shape through a series of personal sessions back and forth between Miami, New York, and San Francisco.
