This is a collection of hillbilly boogie, rockabilly and pure western swing classics from his career from 1939 to 1963 across labels such as Vocalion/Columbia, Cup, Master, MGM and Liberty, including the old blues "Keep Knocking" that Wills played with his former partner, the legendary Milton Brown, at the Fort Worth Doughboys. Among the highlights are the old blues "Keep Knocking But You Can't Come In," which Wills performed with his former partner, the legendary Milton Brown; country writer Cindy Walker's gem "Don't Be Afraid of Your Age;" and the classic "Twin Guitar Special," a classic from the 1950's. Guitar Special". This compilation offers a different side of Bob Wills, who used to stick to the formula, but has since incorporated hot jazz and bouncy blues beats along with hillbilly boogie, rockabilly, and other fads into his danceable swing smashes.
