Four years after the ABNORMALS went on hiatus, they have broken their brief silence and begun to reintroduce their beautiful jet-black voice to the world. The name is WETBLACK, and the band will be formed in 2021. The founder of this band is the bassist, Yan, and the drummer, MASATO, who is a member of ABNORMALS, WRENCH, and THESPANISH BARROW'IN GUITAR, along with COMI. Guitarist AOTA has been playing in various bands and has released two solo albums on ANGEL'S EGG, a quality music label dealing with UK dub and breakbeats. The sound produced by these four is cutting-edge updated hard rock, and if ABNORMALS were Japan's MISFITS, it would naturally sound like singer DANZIG's solo band or its roots in THE DOORS, but that is not the case.WETBLACK's music can be categorized as doom, stoner, heavy rock, or heavy psychedelia, but it is noteworthy that the band never tells a long story, but rather presents its world in a compact and dense manner. One day at a live performance, he suddenly "threw" the guitar at the peak of the melody of a guitar solo, and I was so surprised that I unintentionally screamed out in an inexpressible voice. Every song on their first full-length album "WETBLACK" has the charm of a jet-black color that penetrates deep into pinpoint areas rather than a pervasive darkness.
