Dutch thrash metal band DISTILLATOR has changed its name to CRYPTOSIS and is releasing its debut album "Bionic Swarm". At the time, each member had a completely different vision for their music. During a tour, the three members decided to create a new album that was not bound by thrash metal and had no boundaries, and changed the band name to CRYPTOSIS. The band's debut album, "Bionic Swarm," is a fresh start for the band. This concept album passionately depicts a dystopia in the year 2149, when runaway technology has taken over the human race (the title is taken from the song "Swarm Intelligence" from the DISTILLATOR era). The old school thrash metal style with powerful and sharp guitar riffs inherited from the previous band is retained, but new elements such as symphonic death metal, extreme metal, and progressive metal are also added. From the epic instrumental number (1) "Overture 2149" to the dramatic "Decypher" (2), where the band's technique shines through, to the astonishing song (3) "Death Technology" where the band's gorgeous gallop and sound mass come together as one, the songs are dense and continuous. The song "Death Technology" is a marvelous piece of music that continues with a high density of music. The new CRYPTOSIS has also gained a new innovation in (4) "Prospect of Immortality" and (7) "Conjuring the Egoist," with Frank's Mellotron. The new worldview with symphonic elements fully expressed will surely be received with surprise by the fans who know DISTILLATOR.The mix was mastered by Fredrik Folkare, guitarist for UNLEASHED and FIRESPAWN, and Tony Lindgren (Kreator, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Soilwork, Leprous, Enslaved). The sound is exciting and full of depth. We grow as people and as artists. We want to make music that is our sound, not someone else's sound. That is CRYPTOSIS.
