Pianist Dong-Hyuk Lim was born in Korea in 1984. He has won many competitions, including the International Chopin Piano Competition, and is a spectacularly talented young pianist. He studied in Russia from the age of 10, and at the age of 14, he was the youngest pianist ever to enter the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied with Lev Naumov. This performance is also a performance of Rachmaninoff's full range, backed up by his solid technique. His expression is never showy, but always restrained, and the deep tone of the second movement of the concerto is particularly impressive. Argerich himself participated in the performance of Rachmaninoff's last work, the "Symphonic Dances," and he performed the concerto with the orchestra in a breathtaking manner. Rachmaninoff's last work, "Symphonic Dances," in which they perform together in breathtaking harmony.Although this piece is known as an orchestral work, Rachmaninoff first composed a two-piano version and then orchestrated it, and although it is a difficult piece that requires a variety of sounds when played on the piano, the two performers give a surprisingly expressive and flawless performance.
