Song" is an album by British cellist Sheku Kanae-Mason that transcends the boundaries of genres and focuses on the theme of "song". The album focuses on the cello's beautiful voice through simple folk songs, classical works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Stravinsky, jazz classics, and his own original pop songs. Playing a wide variety of styles, Scheck's cello tone shows that he is a musician who draws inspiration from many different genres. On this album, Shek is not only a solo performer, but also a composer/arranger, collaborating with family and friends. On "Cry Me a River," famously recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Shek improvises with his friend, jazz pianist Harry Baker. Also included is "Same Boat" (Same Boat), an original pop song written with his good friend, singer-songwriter Zach Able.One of Scheck's favorites is "Myfanwy," a Welsh folk song he arranged for three cellos.
