90th anniversary of his death. The young virtuoso Maxim Brilinsky of the Vienna Philharmonic records Ysaÿe's unaccompanied works! The virtuoso Maxim Brilinsky has recorded the unaccompanied sonata of Ysaÿe (1858-1931), who will celebrate his 90th anniversary in 2021! In 2008, at the age of 23, he joined the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. In 2011, at the age of 26, he joined the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, where he is currently the Principal First Violinist. Brilinsky is known for his superb technique, and his debut disc was Paganini's 24 Caprices released by SONY Classical. For his second release, Brilinski takes on the challenge of playing Ysaÿe's unaccompanied violin sonatas, which consist of six pieces.Although written with a strong awareness of Bach's Sonatas & Partitas for Solo Violin, each piece is dedicated to a famous violinist or Ysaye's disciple, and each shows a strong individuality, making them essential repertoire for virtuosos in recent years. Brilinsky's performance, while technical in nature, is full of emotion and charm. He plays this masterpiece on a Gabriel Lembeck 1862 instrument! King International
