Stuttgarter Philharmoniker; Fabio Martino

Ettinger & Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra's second recording features Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1! The popular and talented conductor Dan Ettinger recorded with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, of which he has been the Chief Conductor since 2015. Following Mozart's Symphonies No. 25 & 40 (KKC 5975 / HC 18086), this highly anticipated second recording features two of Ettinger's best works, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 and Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 1 with Fabio Martino! He studied piano, conducting, and voice at the Rubin School of Music and Tel Aviv University, where he also served as a baritone singer in lead roles and chorus roles in opera. He then made his conducting debut at the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival in 1999. As Barenboim's treasured son, he served as Kapellmeister and Assistant Music Director of the Berlin State Opera, and subsequently appeared at the Bavarian State Opera, the Vienna State Opera, and other major theaters around the world. He made his first visit to Japan in 2004 and became the Permanent Conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in April 2010, and was appointed as the orchestra's Conductor Laureate in April 2015. He also appeared at the subscription concert of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra in October 2018 to give a passionate performance of Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique. The work Ettinger says he most wanted to record was Tchaikovsky's symphony, and he has his own plans to record the complete work. The Maestro is active in both opera and symphony, and his interpretation is full of creativity and dramatic expression that will captivate listeners. The coupling concerto is Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 with Fabio Martino as soloist. In 2008, he studied at the Karlsruhe Academy. He has won more than 20 prizes in competitions, including the BNDES International Piano Competition Rio de Janeiro. King International
