The legendary live performance by drummer and percussionist Milford Graves, a pioneer of free jazz in the U.S., and pianist Don Pullen, who played in Charles Mingus' band, at the prestigious Yale University in Connecticut in the spring of 1966 was released on Milford Graves' indie label, Self-Reliance Program, in 1966. Milford Graves' indie label Self-Reliance Program released "In Concert At Yale University" (Self-Reliance Program label/PG-286/LP) in 1966 and "Nommo" (Self-Reliance Program label/LP-296/LP) in 1967. In 2020, the second cover artwork of "In Concert At Yale University" was used. In 2020, the above two albums were reissued for the first time on 2CD using the second cover artwork of "In Concert At Yale University", and now they will be reissued on analog LP using the original cover artwork! This will be a madness for fans of free jazz, avant-garde, etc. We highly recommend that you take this opportunity to check it out.The primitive sound of Don Pullen's primitive mass of sound is flying through the air, and as if to breathe life into the percussive piano sound, the rhythmic pulse and energy produced by Milford Graves collide and draw the listener into a world of another dimension, a rich free jazz world that can be said to be inevitable.
