The renowned Munich-based music critic Joachim Kaiser, who attended this live performance of Brahms' "Deutsches Requiem," praised Thielemann's skills (Suddeutsche Zeitung). Here, Thielemann has assembled a top-notch ensemble, including the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, for this large-scale vocal work.First of all, the soloists are Schaeffer and Gerhaherr, two singers who are outstanding for their intelligent singing. The two singers, Schaeffer and Gerhaherl, both have outstanding voices, and their ability to convey the meaning of the lyrics with exquisite nuance is a major point of interest.
