The classic song "Blind Willie McTell" was recorded for Bob Dylan's 1983 album "Infidels" but was never included on the album. The limited edition 7" featuring two previously unreleased takes, which were never included in the later collection of rare tracks, is now being released on Jack White's Third Man Records! The album was written about blind bluesman Blind Willie McTell, but the recording process was so difficult that it was dropped from the album even though it was the first session for the album, and was only released in 1991 as "The Bootleg Series Volumes 1 & 3 (Rare & Unreleased)". The song never saw the light of day until it was included on "The Bootleg Series Volumes 1 & 3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961-1991", a collection of rare tracks released in 1991.The two takes recorded in 1983 with Mark Knopfler, Mick Taylor, Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare and others were also recorded on this album, but were never released to the public until today and have been completely stored away. The A-side, which includes take 1, is only available on this 7", and the B-side is the full band version. This is a limited pressing and a must-sell out!
