A collection of piano works from Busoni’s mature period, produced in collaboration with Breitkopf & Härtel, the publisher of his major works! This album features three major piano works written between 1900—when Ferruccio Busoni entered a transitional phase in his style—and the 1920s. It is a collaborative project realized with the cooperation of Breitkopf & Härtel, the publisher that had been actively publishing Busoni’s works even during his lifetime. The works are arranged in chronological order of composition, allowing listeners to trace the process from stylistic changes to inner depth, and ultimately to the pinnacle of technique and structure. This arrangement provides a comprehensive overview of the evolution and transformation of Busoni’s creative output in his later years. Emanuele Delucchi is a pianist born in 1987 who is also active as a composer and possesses a strong understanding of musical structure. He has established his reputation through performances of works by Godowsky, Alkan, and Czerny, and has previously released a collection of Metner’s piano works (C00962) on the DaVinciClassics label.
