Wim van Hasselt, world-renowned Belgian trumpet player with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) from 2009 to 2014, presents his third album on Channel Classics, In addition to Hindemith's Sonatas and Hartmann's Concertino, this third release from Channel Classics features two world premiere recordings: "Autumn Song" by Wilhelm von Grunelius, a pianist and composer, and "Cantata" by Ivan Fischer, a Hungarian composer and professor at the University of the Arts, Berlin. Fischer's work features the composer's own composition. Fischer's work will be conducted by the composer himself and performed with Ivan's daughter, soprano Nora Fischer. Wim van Hasselt's lustrous tone and high technical skill allow the listener to enjoy the charm of the trumpet in a variety of orchestras, making this album a must for wind instrumentalists.
