Rob Parton's Big Band, which previously released CDs on Sea Breeze Records, has released its second self-released album. All six albums released by Sea Breeze Records are now out of print, and the Rob Parton Big Band (formerly Rob Parton's Jazztech Big Band) has only one self-produced album and two albums released by Music Store JP. However, the quality of the performances is high, and the content is easy for the Japanese to understand. Rob Parton is famous as "Chicago's busiest trumpet player" and has been involved in jazz education at Roosevelt University in Chicago for many years. The Rob Parton Big Band is made up of musicians from the Chicago area, including Tom Garlin (trb) and Mark Colby (ts), who played in Maynard Ferguson's band, and Tom Matta (btb), who is well known in Japan as an arranger. The topic of this album is Eric Richards' three-movement Fantasy for Trumpet and Jazz Orchestra, which premiered in December 2010. The fast swing - ballad - fast swing flow provides plenty of Rob Parton solos. Other highlights include member Chris Madsen (as)'s arrangements with a contemporary touch. Music Store J.P.
