The new concerto by the talented Tamsin Waley-Cohen Blackford!Born in London in 1986, Tamsin Waley-Cohen is the first violinist of the London Bridge Trio and the Albion Quartet, and was selected for the 2016-2018 ECHO Rising Stars season. In 2017, Waley-Cohen also proved her ability in contemporary music by recording a work by her sister Freya Waley-Cohen, a composer, and now she has recorded a new work by Richard Blackford (b.1954)! Werry Cohen, who has proven his ability in contemporary music, has now recorded a new concerto by Richard Blackford (b.1954)! Richard Blackford is a British composer whose "Great Animal Orchestra" (NI 6274), which combines the sounds of a full orchestra and the wilds of the natural world, has attracted much attention. NIOBE was commissioned by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and premiered in Prague on November 11, 2017, and is a work for violin and orchestra based on the Greek mythological character Niobe.
