Mahler (1860-1911)

Description:

Salonen & Philharmonia take over British supremacy! The third release of note is Mahler's Symphony No. 9! In 1983, Salonen stepped up to the podium of the Philharmonia Orchestra to replace the suddenly ill Tilson Thomas, and after a successful performance of Mahler's "Symphony No. 3", he returned to the Philharmonia Orchestra as Principal Guest Conductor and Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and then as Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Philharmonia Orchestra in the 2008/2009 season. Salonen returned to the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2008/2009 as Chief Conductor and Music Director. Following Schoenberg's "Glee Songs" (SIGCD 173) and Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique" (SIGCD 193), the third Salonen & Philharmonia release, which comes early, is Mahler's "Symphony No. 9! Fear of jinxing Symphony No. 9. A quote from an earlier work of his own. The instruction "ersterbend" (to die out) written at the end of the fourth movement.Symphony No. 9," Mahler's last symphony and masterpiece, is associated with "death. The performance time of Mahler's "Symphony No. 9" by Salonen & Philharmonia Orchestra is: 1st movement: 25'44", 2nd movement: 15'10", 3rd movement: 12'46", 4th movement: 24'03" (77'43" in total). ", 4th movement: 24'03" (77'43" in total). A quiet cry played by the string section. The roar of horns, trombones, and trumpets. And the Adagio of the 4th movement ......, where a deep, pure, and precious world spreads out as if it transcended "death". Salonen and the Philharmonia Orchestra, now in their "golden age," have created Mahler's "Symphony No. 9" with all their might. Tokyo M-Plus
