This is the second album from psychedelia rock band Tame Impala, who were heavily tapped for Summer Soni even before their debut, and whose 2010 debut album was a cult favorite! Produced by frontman Kevin Parker and mixed by Dave Fridman, this album shows the band's dramatic progress. Rather than a new reinvention, it is a rewrite of the previous album, with more expansive content. The most obvious progression of all is probably the synthesizers.The scorching guitar lines, drums, free-flowing bass, and Parker's voice, not to mention the "melancholic" synths, are featured on almost every track. The songwriting is fun and crazy. The melodies are full of dizzying curveballs, changing direction when you think they are dodging, twisting when you think they are coming straight at you.The world's loners will be thrilled by the lyrics, which are sweet, casual, relaxed, but at times serious, ludicrously deep, and seductive.
