Russian-born Andrei Gugnin, of Ukrainian ancestry, whose Shostakovich's "24 Preludes" (Hyperion, PCDA68267/CDA68267) won the 2020 BBC Music Magazine Award, performs poetic works by Zemlinsky and Grieg.Vadim Kholodenko, a young Ukrainian maestro who won the 4th Sendai International Music Competition and the 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, is challenging Godowsky's difficult piece "Exercise on Chopin's Etude.
