Among the prestigious Blue Note recordings, 10 songs were carefully selected that were in particularly high demand as sampling sources for hip-hop. Included are songs from the Juice Crew classic Craig G's "Droppin' Science", Lou Donaldson's "Who's Makin' Love" and "B-Boy", all of which were "borrowed" from the middle to new school era, including songs from the advocacy labels, Capitol and Solid State. Who's Makin' Love" by Lou Donaldson, which is a Juice Crew classic = Craig G's "Droppin' Science" is also included. Jeremy Steig's "Howling For Judy" is one of the best songs on the album, and is well-known for its killer flute loop on Beastie Boys' "Sure Shot. We are happy to see that the original album has not yet been reissued.
