The Lopkowicz Trio Beethoven & Wojciech, winners of the first prize and the Audience Prize at the 2014 Brahms International Competition! The Lopkowicz Trio, consisting of violinist Jan Mraczek, cellist Ivan Vokacz of the Czech Philharmonic, and pianist Lukas Klansky, will perform Beethoven & Wojciech! Unique in the history of Sinfonia Concertante, including piano, Beethoven's Triple Concerto is a work in which the three soloists not only compete with the orchestra, but also function as a true piano trio, with the composer's genius expressed in the tonal contrasts between the three instruments and with the orchestra! It is a masterpiece. Jan Václav Wojciech (1791-1825) was a contemporary of Beethoven and studied piano with Hummel.He was friends with Schubert, as well as with Beethoven. His most famous work is the masterpiece Symphony in D major, Op. 23, and he is also known for composing the first piano piece entitled "Improvisation. His style, including the elegant "Grande Ronde Concertante" included in this album, is characterized by a light romanticism similar to Schubert's. Tokyo M-Plus
