American cellist James Krieger, who won the fourth prize at the Fifth International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1974, the highest American prize that year, and has been a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 1982. This is a full-fledged Christmas album for cello, planned and selected with all his heart and soul. This album is a true Christmas album, designed and selected by James Krieger, an American cellist who is a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. This Christmas album is filled with Krieger's deep love for Christmas songs and his own desire to "sing!" The album features a wide range of musicians, including flutist Andrew Sturman of the Philip Glass Ensemble, horn player Patrick Mirando of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and skilled American jazz pianist Bill Mays, among others. The group includes such well-known and talented musicians as Andru Sturman of the Glass Ensemble, Patrick Mirando, a horn player who has played with the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and Bill Mays, an accomplished American jazz pianist.The ensemble, led by Krieger, will perform a variety of Christmas songs arranged in classical, pop, jazz, and other styles in a joyful and sing-songy way.
