Euphonium virtuoso Stephen Mead and the Brighouse & Rastrick Band present this album. The title tune, Philip Spark's Euphonium Concerto No. 4 "Omaggio" (Italian for homage), was commissioned by Stephen Mead and premiered in March 2022 with the Italian Brass Band. Spark and Mead have collaborated on many projects over the past 30 years, and Mead has premiered and recorded Spark's three other euphonium concertos. The style of this work is one that will captivate all who hear it, and it is a work that will appeal to Stephen Mead. The collection also includes a total of six other works, including Peter Graham's "Euphonium Concerto 'In the Line of Honorable Gentlemen'" and Philip Harper's "Euphonium Concerto," both of which are worth listening to. The passionate and masterful performances by euphonium virtuoso Stephen Mead and the Brighouse & Rastrick Band are a must-hear and must-play.
