The highlight is the title track, “Triumph of Time,” a piece commissioned as the optional piece for the 2014 European Brass Band Championship. Subtitled “Variations for Brass Band,” the piece features an alternating pattern of variations and solos. It is well worth listening to, featuring superb performances by soloists on various instruments, including Richard Marshall (cornet). The album also includes “Essence of Time,” which was commissioned as the compulsory piece for the 1990 European Brass Band Championship. This masterpiece is widely regarded as the work that catapulted Peter Graham’s name to international fame. In addition, the album features a total of six works, including “On Olde Edge,” which served as a set piece for the 1997 All-England Brass Band Championship.
