180-gram vinyl LPFrench composer Jan Tilsen [1970-] got his international breakthrough with the music for the hit movie "Amelie," which was followed by "Goodbye, Lenin! also a hit, made him a well-known composer. Tilsen's sphere of activity is not limited to film music, but also includes music for his own small island, Wuza, and the small chapel, Kerbel, on which he lives. The music there is emotionally rich and melancholy, and shows influences of folk music, chanson, musette waltz, street music, Satie, Glass, and Nyman. The performance is by Dutch pianist and minimalist specialist Jeroen van Pheen, and the effect is serene and seemingly lulls you into a deep sleep!
