It was a true miracle of a concert. It was the first time that Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page, the three great guitarists from the Yardbirds, played together, and even Paul Rodgers, formerly of Free~Bad Company, and Joe Cocker, the lone rock singer, participated in the concert. In addition to the above top musicians, the concert will feature Ron Wood and Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones, Charlie Watts, Kenny Jones of The Who, and acclaimed session musician Simon Foster, as well as the former Faces' Ronnie Lane, who has been diagnosed with an incurable disease. The concert will be held as a one-night-only special concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 20, 1983, and will be supported by acclaimed session musicians Simon Phillips, Ray Cooper, Andy Fairweather Lowe, and others. However, due to the popularity of the concert, nine more concerts were held in Dallas, San Francisco, Inglewood, and New York in the United States.The New York concert on December 9 was recorded and broadcast as a special program on PBS TV/Radio in the US. This album is a live album based on the sound sources used for the broadcast, and a total of eight songs from the set list of that day were cut from the broadcast, including seven songs performed by Eric Clapton and one song performed by all the participating artists (the other song was also fade-in edited).
