Beck is a unique musician in the alternative rock scene. His one-of-a-kind sound, which combines the essence of rock music with folk songs, hip-hop, noise music, and many other types of music, has gained him an overwhelming following and made him one of the top artists in the music scene. The promotion of "Midnight Vultures", an album to be released in November 1999, has been conducted mainly through TV broadcasts with the promotional support of Beck's label, and the December 9, 1999 performance in Seattle, WA was recorded for MTV. Beck, a perfectionist, had never authorized the broadcast of any lengthy live performance footage, and this is the first broadcast material.
