Steve Cardinas, one of the most important contemporary guitarists of our time The "Mercy Project", in which he also participates New band with John Cowherd and Brian Braid A work that shows the present form of modern Americana/contemporary jazz Born in 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri. He started his career based in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent six years on the West Coast from around the end of the 1980s. In 1995, he moved to New York, and in 1997, on the recommendation of Pat Metheny and Wolf Gangmoosepiel, he joined Paul Motian's electric bebop band and emerged as a prominent member of many great bands, including Joey Barron, Charlie Haden, and Steve Swallow. Steve Cardinas, who has been active as a member of a number of major bands including Joey Barron, Charlie Haden, and Steve Swallow, is now ready to release his first solo leader album. Cardinas has been a member of John Cowherd's folk and gospel-based "Mercy Project" since the early 2010s, and is also the pianist for Brian Braid's fellowship.Cardinas had previously worked primarily with a piano-less guitar trio at its core, but he wanted to feature Cowherd, with whom he had developed a musical friendship, and the recording became a new project. On bass is longtime collaborator Ben Allison, who also played on Cardinas' third album in 2010. And on drums, Brian Braid, who has played with Cowherd's Mercy Project as well as with John Patitucci's Electric Guitar Quartet, will be joining the band, so the vision is solidified and the new project is suddenly underway.
