Kaori Uemura (Classical)

Description:

[Second solo work by Kaori Kamimura, a renowned viol player. A tribute to the wonder of music that conveys human emotions】The word "kagami," an inherent word in the Japanese language, can be read as "god (kami)" surrounding "self (ga). When we look in the mirror, what we see is the self surrounded by divinity. I titled this story "Kagami" because I believe that music can bring up and accompany our inner feelings as if we were looking in a mirror. This CD is also an omage to the fact that Baroque composers considered music not only a mirror of God's creation, but also an expression of human emotions through "figura" (ascending and descending forms, leaps, tonality, flats, sharps, etc.), which can produce "afffects" (effects that evoke specific emotions). It is also a tribute to the fact that he thought that the "Affect" (an action that evokes a specific emotion) could be created. --Kaori Uemura (from the commentary) is based in Brussels, Belgium, and continues to play a central role as a core member of leading old music ensembles of various generations, such as Ricercar Consort, Les Arts Florissants, and Le Poème Armonique. Kaori Kamimura, viol player.Yuu Yuu" (specially selected by "Record Geijutsu" magazine), his first solo album released in 2021 after a long and fruitful career, was a collection of unaccompanied works that spun out a surprisingly rich world on a single instrument, the viol. The new album is chamber music with French harpsichordist Aline Gilbereisch and Ricardo Rodriguez Miranda, who are also busy performing in Belgium and France. The musical narrative, which begins quietly with an unaccompanied piece at the beginning, is rich in ups and downs and is full of quiet centripetal force, as if the audience were drawn into the intimate atmosphere of a stage in Europe hundreds of years ago.The performance of the rare pieces by Doré, who was active in the mid-18th century, and the music of the French court style by Marais, Couperin, and others, as well as the slow movement of the "Italian Concerto," in which the main melody is drawn out on the viol following the beautiful shading of the low keyboard, and the unexpected solo performance of the famous scene from the masterpiece opera "Daidot and Inias" by Purcell, all of which appear in unexpected guises, are truly fascinating. The unexpected solo performance of Ryuji Sakamoto's arrangement of a scene from Purcell's masterpiece opera "Daidoo and Ineas," and other tracks in which songs that you should have known appear in unexpected guises are truly fascinating. The Japanese title written by Uemura himself, as well as the interplay between the rubbing strings and the plucked strings, make this an album that will draw you in deeply. Naxos Japan
