Isabelle Pfefferkorn's debut solo album, which crosses freely between classical and pop music] As a classical mezzo-soprano, Isabelle Pfefferkorn (Pfefferkorn) from Austria has a wide repertoire ranging from ancient to contemporary music, and has performed all over the world from Europe to North America. Pfefferkorn). She is also a full-fledged pop and jazz singer. Her debut solo album is a very unique album in which she performs with four cellos. The opening song, "Cold Song," is more famous in the counterculture circles for Klaus Nomi, a pop countertenor singer who fell ill with AIDS, than for classical music fans. The cello sound is also intense. In the classical works that follow, her wide range of expression and beautiful voice come alive, and we can enjoy her abilities. The second half of the album features popular music, but the cello accompaniment remains the same, so there is no great discrepancy.The selection of songs by Tom Waits, Judy Garland, Britney Spears, and Freddie Mercury also shows her deep self-exploration and her eye toward the socially disadvantaged. The tasteful delivery of songs such as "Over the Rainbow," which is a special highlight of the album, is a departure from what one would expect from a classically trained singer with a wealth of pop experience.
