Description:

Barbastre's Noël, which colored France on the eve of the Revolution, with the strange sounds of three original instruments Noël is the general term for the traditional secular songs of the Christmas season that have been sung in French-speaking countries in the secular world unrelated to the church (music similar to carols in English-speaking countries). It was once so famous that many people could recite it by heart, and in 18th century France, church organists developed variations based on its melody to the delight of the people. The Conseil Spirituel in Paris, which had long been popular as a regular concert venue for orchestral and religious music, also performed Noël near the end of the year on the organ installed in the hall, and it was the famous performance by the virtuoso Balbastre that created a great sensation. His reputation grew so strong that he was appointed the resident organist of Notre Dame de Paris, and while many church fixtures were being destroyed during the French Revolution, he brilliantly played "La Marseillaise" on the cathedral organ that he had played for many years, saving the precious instrument from destruction. The Noëls by Barbastre are still performed in excerpts as standard organ masterpieces, but Beaumont, a master clavecin player who has led the world of French classical music, has chosen the Noëls as the basis for the concert because the composer was active as a clavecin player in his youth and published a famous collection of clavecin pieces, and the piano was becoming popular in his time of activity. In addition to the organ, Beaumont recorded the entire Noël cycle using not only the organ, but also the clavecin and fortepiano. This is a highly acclaimed reference work from the time of its first release in 2000 (first issue number TEM316022). This is the long-awaited revival of the catalog with a new jacket. Naxos Japan
