Description:

Fedorova sings Rachmaninoff's Concertos No. 2 and No. 4 by Anna Fedorova, a native of Kiev, Ukraine, and winner of the 2009 Rubinstein International Piano Competition, as well as a world-class pianist, especially in the Netherlands. The concertos are performed by Anna Fedorova. This is the second complete collection of Rachmaninoff's piano concertos, following the first (CCS42620), which included No. 1 and the "Rhapsody on Paganini". The second, played by Fedorova, is the first re-recording on CD since 2014 (PIANO CLASSICS), after a live video from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw in 2013, which has received nearly 35 million views on You Tube. The Piano Concerto No. 2 was the catalyst for Rachmaninoff's recovery from the mental crisis that followed the critical acclaim of his Symphony No. 1, which was a great success. Here, Fedorova's piano, which dynamically adds expression to the rather slow tempo, is intertwined with the orchestra, which undulates greatly, bringing out more than enough of the work's charm. Completed nine years after Rachmaninoff left his native Russia in 1917, and revised twice, No. 4 is a rather complex work that has been noted to have been influenced by Scriabin and others. Here, too, Fedorova's technique and expressiveness, which combine power and delicacy, come alive.According to Fedorova, the order of recording was No. 4 and No. 2 based on her interpretation that No. 4 is "a great turning point of the times, a farewell to the past and a plunge into a terrible future," and No. 2 is "a rebirth like a phoenix and a revival of the spirit, hope and light, which is what we need at this moment in time," and that her current thoughts This is an album that will move the hearts of those who listen to it.
