Burkard Schliesmann is a mid-career German pianist who studied with Schura Cherkassky and Bruno Leonard Gerber. He has released albums of Chopin and Brahms, and has been well received for his ability to delve into the depths of each piece, bringing out the texture, form, and poetry of each piece. 2013 saw the release of an album that included Bach's Partita and Italian Concerto, and this recording of the " Golberg Variations" was recorded in 2007. Schliesmann, who says he loves Bach more than any other composer, has received high acclaim in various media for his performance of the Goltberg Variations. For this release, the recording has been newly remastered for an even more beautiful sound. It is available on SACD, including multi-channel 5.0. Naxos Japan
