Miguel da Silva is a viola player who has been highly sought after as a soloist and chamber music collaborator by a wide range of musicians, including Brahms Kantorov, Roger and Meyer. He will release a Brahms album on the ALPHA label. He will perform with François-Frédéric Guy, who released the complete Beethoven piano concertos (Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo) in 2020 to great acclaim, and Xavier Philippe, who has performed with Guy on Beethoven's complete cello sonatas (Evidence), among others. Xavier Philippe, who has collaborated with Guy on Beethoven's complete cello sonatas (Evidence), is also a close friend of da Silva. The deep tone of these works, originally written for clarinet but arranged for viola by Brahms himself, highlights the depth of Brahms' late works, and their close ensemble makes the distinctive rhythms sound crisp and clear, while the overflowing singing and deeply resonant harmonies are a joy to listen to.
