He has also won eight other international piano competitions, including the 26th Rome International Piano Competition. In recent years, Takagi has performed with renowned orchestras in Japan and abroad, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed in many of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Musikverein in Vienna and Schönbrunn Palace. The program for Takagi's debut album is built around Schumann's "Carnival," with "Variations" as the main theme. As the title "Metamorphose" suggests, the focus is on "things that change" and "things that go through transition," and the album is decorated with colorful and varied works that weave a magnificent sonic picture scroll.
