Another good project! Anselme's Beethoven Live. Anselme is not only a master of German music, but also a highly acclaimed musician. The "Missa Solemnis" is a masterpiece that can be said to be more than the Ninth in the repertoire where it was first performed. The singers are international and gorgeous, and although the tone is French, the form is well-dressed and majestic. The singers are all international and the sound is French, but the form is well formed and majestic. The Swiss Romande Broadcasting Corporation was slow to introduce stereo, so this is the best that could be hoped for at the time. The inclusion of the 4th movement of the 9th is also a nice service. The Decca studio recording was beautiful with a lustrous tone, but Anselme, burning in front of the audience, led the orchestra with a rigid style.You can hear the unexpectedly lumpy texture and the shouts (unexpectedly high pitched) that show how excited the maestro is. This Ninth can also be enjoyed in a recording with good separation. This is a must-have collection of Anselme's masterpieces, as live recordings of his performances are hard to come by.
