Description:

A Collection of Masterpieces Woven from Exquisite Tones Takayuki Hashigo’s “Piano Recital 2025” Pianist Takayuki Hashigo captivates audiences with a tone full of depth and elegance. Every year, he releases live recordings of his recitals at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Small Hall on the SONARE label, all of which have received high acclaim. This album captures the recital held in October 2025. The program opens with the brilliant short piece “Mozart: Rondo in D Major, K. 485,” composed in 1786. It is a brief yet highly polished work, characterized by its clear sense of form and graceful melodies. This is followed by the cheerful and lively “J.S. Bach: Italian Concerto in F Major, BWV 971.” The program continues with “Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 10,” which is more approachable and charming compared to his later works, and “Brahms: Three Intermezzi, Op. 117,” a masterpiece brimming with deep lyricism. The program concludes with “Children’s Corner,” which Debussy dedicated to his beloved daughter. This is truly a gem of a program where you can fully savor Hashigo’s elegant and delicate piano sound. Born on August 2, 1977, in Tokyo to parents who were both musicians. In 1990, he entered the preparatory course at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, studying under Professor Elisabeth Dvorak-Weisshaar. In 1994, he won first prize as the youngest participant at both the International Music Competition for the Blind and Visually Impaired in the Czech Republic and the International Youth Piano Competition in Ettlingen, Germany (Category B). His rich musicality has been widely recognized. In 1995, he won second prize at the Stravinsky International Youth Competition in the United States. In 1997, he received the Muramatsu Prize. In 1998, he won second prize at the Long-Thibaud International Competition (Paris), as well as the SACEM Prize (Recital Prize) and the Spion-Bonnot Foundation Prize. In 1999, he received the Tokyo Citizens’ Cultural Honor Award, the Idemitsu Music Prize, and the Braille Mainichi Cultural Prize. In 2000, she received the Mayor of Warsaw Prize at the International Chopin Competition. She is also active in recording, and in recent years has released numerous albums on the SONARE label, all of which have been well received. SONARE
