Description:
The 52-hertz whale's call is so high-pitched that other whales cannot hear it, so it is called the loneliest whale in the world. With her wounds, Takanori moves from Tokyo to a house in a seaside town, where she meets a boy called "Mushi," who has been abused and has lost his voice. Having been abused and exploited by her own family in the past, she cannot overlook the boy and begins to live with him. Soon, the boy, who had no dreams and no future, has only one "wish". She thinks back to the irreplaceable days with Ango, whom she can no longer see, who heard her silent SOS and rescued her, and she stands up once again to listen to the voice that she could not hear at that time... A talented cast of young, up-and-coming actors, including Hana Sugisaki, Jun Shidon, Hyoui Miyazawa, and Hanashi Ono, come together under the direction of Izuru Narushima, a master filmmaker who continues to look at the lights and shadows of human nature. Based on the novel of the same title by Sonoko Machida, which won the 2021 Honya Taisho award. The music is by "The Transfer Order is a Music Band! and "The Most Tragic Day of Detective Mariko's Life" and "Matching" directed by Eiji Uchida. Beyond the sadness, the music and the light of hope that stirs the heart resonate in the heart.
