He has collaborated with a variety of guests throughout his career, but for this album, he started by handing off his ideas to his collaborators. Listening to the work, one can hear that a creative bond has been formed with new talent that fits well with both the history and evolution of N.O.W. Shabaka Hutchings, Haile Supreme, Mara TK, Sabrina Mahfouz, Green Tea Pen, Oshun, and Pip Millett are among the participating guests on this album.While many guests add unique and dynamic elements to the album, which moves seamlessly between sophisticated electronica, smooth jazz, clever hip-hop, and the distinctive middle ground that epitomizes the essence of N.O.W., this album is Evelyn's most It is a personal work, and as a result of adopting a healthier lifestyle, he says that his long years of touring have clarified things that had been clouded by his life, as well as his fear of cancer. In making this album, Evelyn says, "I remember having the conversation that I needed to approach this album as if it would be my last," she says. Still, Evelyn clearly realized that it was not her destiny to lose her life to cancer. It is not my film, it is not my story. I still have work to do and a light to shine. This thought led her to make this work, "Shout Out! To Freedom," a personal work. The Japanese CD includes an additional bonus track and a commentary.
