This is the fourth in a series of Tchaikovsky symphonies by Kitaenko. The first symphony is Tchaikovsky's first symphony, composed in 1866 and entitled "Fantasy on a Winter's Day," a title that is also attributed to the composer himself. Although it was written as a young work, it is a powerful work with Tchaikovsky's distinctive writing style, which can be seen in his later works. As usual, Kitayenko's performance was magnificent and full of scale, and the music was perfectly spun with a beautiful sound that extended to all directions, backed up by a slow tempo. In particular, the strings in the second movement sound like a dream, and when the nostalgic folk song-like theme is heard, it is truly a moving experience. Included at the same time are three songs from "Snow Girl. The sweet Tchaikovsky verse bursts forth. Naxos Japan
