Description:
The Kinks, a great British rock group and a treasure of British music! This year marks the 60th anniversary of their formation, and four of their albums from the latter half of their "theatrical/concept album period" in the early 70's are now available on reissued analog vinyl! This is their 14th studio album, "SOAP OPERA", released in 1975, which is a concept album continuing the band's theatrical music style from the previous two albums! The Kinks. The Kinks began in Muswell Hill, north London with brothers Ray and Dave Davies and their friend Pete Quaife, and after Mick Avory joined the group in early 1964, they quickly established themselves as one of the leading groups of the 1960s. Their sound/style is still influential and timeless today, making them a British Rock band worthy of the word "great".The band's four albums released between 1973 and 1975 are now being reissued on black analog vinyl! The albums to be reissued in black analog are "PRESERVATION ACT 1" released in 1973 and "PRESERVATION ACT 2" released in 1974, a grand concept album spanning two albums, as well as two concept albums released in 1975 under the title "The Kinks In 1975, The Kinks released four concept albums, "SOAP OPERA" and "SCHOOLBOYS IN DISGRACE," along with "Presents" in 1975. SOAP OPERA" is the Kinks' fourteenth studio album, and is a continuation of their theatrical musical style from their two concept albums released in 1973 and 1974. It is the most epic concept album in The Kinks' history, as Ray Davies tackles the theme of how "ordinary people" can dream of stardom and escape from rock bottom. The story here is told of a musician called "The Starmaker" who exchanges his life with an ordinary, everyday person named Norman and gains a deeper understanding of life, and includes many of his best-known songs, such as "A Face in The Crowd," "Underneath The Neon Sign," and the stunning " The album features a number of signature tracks, including "A Face in The Crowd," "Underneath The Neon Sign," and the stunning "You Can't Stop The Music. This is the first re-pressed analog release since the original analog release in 1975, with the exception of a US-only reissue in 2008, This will be a must-have for fans of The Kinks.
