Baptiste Trotignon, a pianist/composer based in France, leads his trio to release their latest album just one year after their last one. Baptiste Trotignon was born in 1974 in Paris, France, and began playing the piano at the age of six. Later, in his teens, he discovered jazz/ improvisation and began to teach himself, and in 1998, at the age of 26, he released his first trio albums, "Fluide" and "Sightseeing," which made him stand out as a unique figure among the new generation of pianists. He has won many awards, including the Django d'Or, the Django Reinhardt Prize, and the 2003 Victoire de Jazz Best French Newcomer Award, and in 2002 he won the Grand Prix at the Marshall Solard International Jazz Piano Competition.Baptiste's creative and playful reinterpretations of iconic British songs by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Radiohead, and others, played freely with love and humor. The fresh and playful sound of regular members Greg Hutchinson (drums) and Matt Penman (upligh bass) and the groove-filled trio sound are guaranteed to enchant you.
