An Extremely Delicate Brahms by French Rising Star Laroume French pianist Adam Laroume, born in 1987, has released his second solo album on Harmonia Mundi. His first album featured Schubert (HMM902660), but this time it’s Brahms. Since the Piano Sonata No. 3 was composed when Brahms was around 20 years old, it demands powerful technique; yet, from the very opening, Laroume’s touch is remarkably delicate. With a distinct sense of Beethoven’s influence, this performance offers a perspective unique to Laroume. In the *Seven Fantasies*, a work from his very late period, Laroume’s music—delicate yet richly expressive—truly shines. While deeply attuned to the work’s context, she performs with a touch brimming with intuition. LaRouche began playing the piano at age 10 and won first prize at the 2009 Clara Haskil International Piano Competition, among other competitions. She has performed in Japan at festivals such as La Folle Journée, where audiences were deeply moved by her delicate and sincere expression.
