Born in 2000, Finnish conductor Talmo Pertkoski was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in January 2022, followed by his appointment as Music and Artistic Director of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra in May 2022 and then the Rotterdam In December 2022, it was announced that he would become Music Director of the Orchestre National de la Capitole de Toulouse starting in September 2024. He studied at the age of 14 under Professor Emeritus Jorma Panula, who trained top conductors such as Salonen, Oramo, Saraste, and Vänskä, and at the Sibelius Academy with Sakari Oramo. He also studied with Hanne Lintu, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, and Esa-Pekka Salonen. She is also a highly acclaimed pianist and has won many competitions and has performed as a soloist with major Finnish orchestras.
