Long Distance Calling

LONG DISTANCE CALLING is the seventh album by LONG DISTANCE CALLING, an evolving instrumental post-rock group from Germany, and the most notable post-rock band in Germany. LONG DISTANCE CALLING is a four-piece band, "the most remarkable post-rock band in Germany". The band's seventh album, "How Do We Want To Live?" is a work that clearly defines the theme of "the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence" artistically and with a deep inquisitive mind, and poses the question to us: "What is the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence? LONG DISTANCE CALLING has released 6 albums, performed at some of the biggest metal festivals in Japan such as Rock am Ring and Wacken Open Air, and toured with SWALLOW THE SUN and PROTEST THE HERO. and PROTEST THE HERO. In addition, the band has been nominated for the prestigious German award "Den Deutschen Musikautorenpreis 2020", which honors songwriters and composers. This is a prestigious music award for musicians who place a high value on artistic merit and not on sales. The band's past studio work has demonstrated their vivid artistic sensibility and songwriting ability. The latest album is a leap forward from Long Dance Calling's traditional worldview, boldly incorporating new sonic landscapes, the introduction of electro, and elements of the unconventional and unexpected. Like the previous album, the composition is mainly instrumental, but narration is included at key points in the style. What is also impressive is that even with the heavy use of electro, the band has managed to create an organic sound that never loses its human touch. Drummer Janosch says of the album. In countries where the spread of corona pandemics is relatively controlled, people's movements are often constantly monitored through mobile apps and GPS scanners. This makes it easier to track who has been in contact with an infected person and when, and to take appropriate action. But on the other hand, it would also make one's own actions visible. What if many people voluntarily install cameras and microphones in their homes and record their entire lives without interruption? If your every action is publicly visible on social media...that would be a big question. No one wants that, and it would be preferable that it not happen. This is exactly why I put the theme of artificial intelligence into this work.I would be happy if I could evoke the importance of not only an interested audience, but also actual face to face conversation. I think it's important to keep in mind how our lives function and should be shaped within the actual social structure. With "How Do We Want To Live?", LONG DISTANCE CALLING continues to take their creative work to a new level.
