It's the little song you forgot. Julian Baker's long-awaited latest album is now complete. Julian Baker, a popular SSW representing US indie music, has released his long-awaited third album "Little Oblivions" after a four-year absence. Recorded in Baker's hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, between December 2019 and January 2020, the album maintains Baker's voice and pleasant guitar and piano playing, but breaks new ground with the addition of new instruments, including bass, drums, synthesizer, banjo, and mandolin, almost all played by Baker himself.The new chapter opens with the uplifting opener "Hardline," the uplifting single "Faithhealer," the choking "Ringside," with its faintly noisy power chords, and "Favor," a song featuring our friend Phoebe Bridgers, who also works with us in Boy Genius, and Lucy Duckas, and the nourishing piano-driven "Song in E," a song that merges the introspective solace and salvation of Julien's past work. The album includes 12 tracks, including "Favor," a song featuring Lucy Duckas, and "Song in E," a song with a deep piano voice, which is a new expression of the introspective solace and salvation that can be called Julian's past work. As on the previous album, the album was engineered by Calvin Lauber and mixed by Craig Silvey (The National, Florence and the Machine, Arcade Fire).
