RIVERSIDE is a Polish progressive rock/progressive metal band that has been based in Warsaw since 2001 and has released six studio albums, two mini albums, and two live albums. This is their seventh original work, three years since their last album, "Love, Fear and the Time Machine," released in September 2015. The previous album had the highest chart action ever, reaching #2 on the album chart in its home country, #4 in the Netherlands, #18 in Germany, and #31 in Finland. However, tragedy struck the band the following year in February 2016 when guitarist Piotr Grudzinski died suddenly just before his 41st birthday. Two years later, after overcoming deep grief and the threat of dissolution, the three members announced on Twitter that they had completed a demo recording, much to the delight of their fans. On September 28, they will make a full-fledged return to the scene with their new album "Wasteland"! Mariusz Duda says he was inspired by Cormac McCarthy's novel "The Road" and the popular role-playing game series Fallout. Both works deal with the end of the world.The film opens with Mariusz Duda's sorrowful a cappella rendition of "The Day After," the title of a 1983 TV movie broadcast in the U.S. The film depicts the threat of the outbreak of World War III during the Cold War and the fear of the use of nuclear weapons. The band has announced that Maciej Meller will join the band as the official touring guitarist, but they will not bring in a new guitarist and will continue with a three-piece band. RIVERSIDE will make a complete comeback.
