Jethro Tull, one of the leading figures of British progressive rock led by Ian Anderson, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their debut in 2018, and their "40th Anniversary Project" has finally reached its last work from the 1970s! The 40th anniversary edition of "Stormwatch - Mystery of the North Sea Oil Fields", the 12th album released in September 1979, which concludes the "Folk Rock Trilogy", is now available for purchase. In the past, Jethro Tull has released deluxe editions of his albums to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their release, featuring new remixes by Steven Wilson and rare and previously unreleased material, but this new edition of "STORMWATCH / Stormwatch - Mystery of the North Sea Oil Fields" will be released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its release. The 40th anniversary edition of "STORMWATCH - The Mystery of the North Sea Oil Field" will be a luxury 4CD+2DVD+booklet edition, following the previous edition "HEAVY HORSES" released last year. Of course, CD1 includes a new mix of the original recording by Steven Wilson, who has become a familiar face in Jethro Tull's 40th anniversary series.This folk-rock album, the follow-up to 1977's "Songs from the Woods" and 1978's "Heavy Horses," was the last of the late-70s lineup of Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, John Glasscock, John Evan, David (Dee) Palmer, and Barrymore Barlow. Recorded between August 1978 and July 1979, SONGS FROM THE WOOD includes such environmental and oceanic songs as "North Sea Oil" and "Flying Dutchman. Flying Dutchman," and other songs with themes related to the environment and the ocean. Some of the songs from this recording session did not make it onto the album because they did not fit these themes, but they are included on CD2 of the "40th Anniversary Edition" of the album.These include songs such as "Man Of God," "Crossword," "Kelpie" and "The Lyricon Blues," as well as early versions of "Dark Ages" and "Dun Ringill," both of which appear on the original album. The 40th Anniversary Edition also includes early versions of "Dark Ages" and "Dun Ringill" from the original album. The 40th Anniversary Edition also includes previously unreleased live recordings of Jethro Tull recorded at Congrebgebouw in the Netherlands on March 16, 1980, on CDs 3 & 4. The setlist, which could be called the all-time best of Jethro Tull at that time, features his latest album "STORMWATCH" as well as hits and signature songs such as "Locomotive Breath", "Aqualung", "Thick As A Brick" and "Minstrel In The Gallery". The DVD also features the original album's five hits and representative songs. The DVD also features the original album in various standards, including 5.1 DTS & AC3 Dolby Digital, and 96.24 LPCM Stereo.STORMWATCH" marked the end of an era for Jethro Tull, with the death of John Glasscock from illness and the departure of a member after the album's tour. Forty years have passed since its release, and the album offers listeners a new discovery.
