Janková's second album is a collection of German and Eastern European songs, a new album of German and Eastern European songs by Martina Janková, a famous young soprano born in the Czech Republic. Janková was born in 1972. After beginning her career in Prague, she distinguished herself at the Zurich Opera House during the Welser-Möst era, especially in the role of Mozart's daughter, for which she received great acclaim. Today she is a popular soprano in German-speaking countries. Her debut solo album of Haydn songs (SU 4005) was critically acclaimed. This album was recorded in 2004 while she was in Zurich. As the album is titled "Voyage VOYAGE," it contains a variety of songs in German, Russian, and Czech.The freshness of Yanková's voice is very pleasant, the innocence of Mussorgsky's "The Child's Room," the gaiety of R. Strauss' "The Girl's Flower," and the euphoria of Scheck are all wonderful. Of course, Dvorak, his countryman, is superb. King International
