Soulful Jazz Singer Polly Gibbons Resonance Vol. 3! A dynamic fusion of jazz, blues, pop, and soul, Polly Gibbons, a soulful jazz vocalist from the UK, has released her third album on Resonance. In 2015, the album was featured on the compilation "Four Jazz Vocal Fans Only Vol. 1," supervised by Yasukuni Terashima, and is now a well-known presence in Japan. This is his first release since "Is it Me...? This is his first release in two years since the release of "Is it Me...? This album was recorded with an audience at the famous Power Station studio in New York (now part of the Berklee College of Music). As usual, the soulful singing based on jazz and blues is in the Polly Gibbons vein. The massy, sometimes husky voice of Polly Gibbons gives a full-fledged performance that bursts out dynamically from the opening Horace Silver number. There are Ellington numbers, originals, and numbers by Al Jarreau and George Duke.The album also features a number like "Nothing Compares 2 U," a song written by Prince and sung by Sinead O'Connor that has been the talk of the town, and features a stellar lineup of pianists including Tamir Hendelman and James Pearson, as well as Shedrick Mitchell, who has made his name with his participation in the Kenny Garrett Band and plays the spiritual organ, and an ironclad keyboard player.
