A true "artist" of all time who has had a profound influence on musicians working at the forefront of the Canterbury scene and beyond, this is a miraculous '13 compilation of previously unreleased demo recordings from the late 60s, the period when the original SOFT MACHINE was disintegrating! The demo was recorded by Robert Wyatt, the only member of SOFT MACHINE who stayed in the U.S. after the release of their debut album "SOFT MACHINE" in 1968 and their tour in North America, with the help of local musicians. Although 'Slow Walkin' Talk' and 'Moon In June' were previously included on related compilations, they are no longer available, and until their inclusion on this album, Wyatt himself said that they no longer existed.Both of them are the originals of 'Signed Curtain' from MATCHING MOLE's debut album in 1972 and 'Rivmic Melodies' from "VOLUME 2" in 1969, respectively. Melodies', which was already recorded in 1969 and is almost complete, will astonish fans! Of course, 'Slow Walkin' Talk' featuring the late Jimi Hendrix on bass and 'Moon In June' featuring the late Hugh Hopper (b) and Mike Ratledge (organ), which developed into the prototype for the later complete version, have been missing for a long time, so fans who missed out on the compilations are in for a treat. This is a great find that shows the origins of SOFT MACHINE and Wyatt's own compositions/ideas throughout the entire album! The booklet contains rare photos including a portrait of Wyatt with JImi Hendrix and a new commentary based on his own testimony.
